In the words of Vincent Van Gogh, ‘Great things are done by a series of small things brought together’. We all play a powerful role in protecting our future and at Hulamin Containers, we understand the full worth of our choices; to make decisions that will encourage the sustainability of our resources, great and small.
Hulamin Containers is committed to sustainable packaging solutions. From the manufacturing process, under the guidance of our ISO 14001 environmental management system, to product development of the aluminium containers themselves and their recyclability, we take careful measure to live up to our responsibility to the environment.
To help minimise the use of our natural resources during production of our containers (which are made with a minimum of 50% recycled content), 70% of the water used at our Pietermaritzburg manufacturing facility comes from captured rain water off the impressive expanse of our factory and warehouse roof. We are also acutely aware that before the boom of industrialisation, grassland and forests covered much of what is now under human habitation. To this end, tree frogs, butterflies, birds and bees take bounty in the indigenous gardens that flourish under every available square inch at our factory.
